Artist Statement:

Alaska is a place of magic.
The mountains, glaciers, rivers and the wildlife all provide unending adventure and photographic opportunity grounded in a great land. There is another world beyond the earthly experience of it all, something there but not there.

Something where time and space meld together, something ethereal

From a moment of a bird in flight frozen in a split second, to flowing water blurred with time, to the supercollider in the northern sky we call Aurora Borealis, to the prisms of tiny ice particles and lenses of air that bend, project, refract and distill light. The mirages, halos, flashes, pillars of light and all the special effects we call atmospheric optics.
To images that bring time and space together into one.


That is the Ethereal Alaska I see, and we share a few images of with you in this show.
