Brett Knipmeyer, Chef / Owner
Originally from Chicago, Chef Brett started his culinary career after receiving a BS in Architecture from the University of Illinois. Upon graduating from the Western Culinary Institute in Portland, Oregon, he returned to Chicago for a stint at the world renowned Charlie Trotter’s. With his wife Sandy, Brett moved to Alaska to be the head chef at Jens Restaurant for seven years. Brett has now staked his own culinary claim, and named it after his daughter, Kinley.
Solomon Loosli, General Manager / Sommelier
Solomon has won several Wine Spectator Awards, received the International Restaurant & Hospitality Gold Wine Award, became a member of the Court of Master Sommeliers in August of 2001, was knighted by a Bordeaux wine society in France, and has worked as a wine professional in France, Germany, and Sonoma.
Jim Nyholm , Sous Chef
Jim received his culinary training at Le Cordon Bleu in Ottawa, Canada. He has worked at the Crow's Nest, was Sous Chef at Fletcher's in the Hotel Captain Cook, and has worked as the dinner chef at Jens restaurant.
Marty Kimball, Day Manager / Special Events Coordinator
With 12 years combined experience coordinating events for Marx Bros. and the Egan Convention Center, Marty has catered to the highest level of clientele from politicians to rock stars and has coordinated some of the largest catered events in Alaska.
